Hack Reactor

Hack Reactor’s mission is to empower people through data-driven educational programs. Our Goal: You’ll begin Hack Reactor with a feeling of excitement and anticipation. Twelve weeks later, you’ll follow the footsteps of our trailblazing alumni, taking the methodologies and best practices you perfected at our coding bootcamp to your next job. We’ve built world class software engineering curriculum and programming courses. However, Hack Reactor is, above all else, a world-class learning environment.

App Academy

Since App Academy started 3 years ago, over 700 graduates have been placed at top tech companies. Over twelve weeks, you’ll learn all the skills needed to begin a career as a web developer. Through hands-on projects, we train you to build web applications with Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, and React/Flux. Prior programming experience isn’t required. However, you will need lots of tenacity and a passion for building cool stuff.

The paid apprenticeship lasts 3 months. During the 3 months, you work alongside designers and developers at thoughtbot on real projects, and are assigned a Mentor who is your primary instructor. You also work on special projects designed to give you additional time and training in the areas you most need. Each month, you move to another mentor and different team. This rotation enhances the learning process by exposing you to new projects and new people, but also by allowing you to reapply what you’ve learned in a new context. In the final month, if things have gone well, you are promoted to a full designer or developer at thoughtbot. Or we’ll connect you with other great potential employers.

Coder Camps

Coder Camps are hands-on coding “boot camps” focused on teaching motivated students the programming skills needed to be successful in a developer role. Coder Camps offers numerous courses that are designed for your specific needs, whether you are new to programming or a seasoned professional. All of the courses equip students with real-world skills by simulating an agile work environment, taught by an experienced teaching staff that is passionate about helping you begin your career after the program ends. With facilities currently in Houston, Online, San Francisco, and Seattle, students can start their path towards becoming a developer locally or globally. Classlength: nine weeks. Costs: $9,900

Coding Dojo

Coding Dojo’s founder, Michael Choi, served as CTO and CEO of several successful startups including a real estate lead-gen company called Zurple. It was a high-growth startup and Michael was struggling to find qualified developers so he created a training program of his own. Not only did he believe this to be more pragmatic and efficient, but Michael also loved to teach. Today, Coding Dojo is the only school in the world to teach three full stacks of software development in 14 weeks: an ability only acquirable through years of refinement and only enabled by a staff of seasoned web developers through decades of programming experience. Our commitment to quality has produced a polished curriculum and well-rounded course structure, which we continue to improve with every new cohort. Given the rapid growth of technology, we believe that our school must act likewise: to be adaptive, versatile, and most of all highly relevant. Classlength: 12 weeks. Costs: $9,850

Hackbright Academy

Hackbright Academy is the leading engineering school for women with a mission to increase female representation in tech through education, mentorship and community. Over the last 25 years, women have gone missing from the computer science workforce in significant numbers. While the representation of women in fields like medicine, law and physical sciences has improved, hundreds of thousands of women have fallen from the ranks of computer scientists. To close the gender gap in engineering and technology, we have reimagined and improved engineering education through a customized model that has proven to bring women back into the field. With the increasing influence of technology on everyday lives, it is our goal to include women as technology creators through three main avenues: education, mentorship and community.

We believe in learning by doing, at Make School studying takes a back seat to creating. We believe the app is the new resume, a portfolio of products is more powerful than any credential. We believe coding is the world’s first superpower, our students help make the world a better place.
