How much time should you spend on recruiting?

Of course, that depends on the phase of the life cycle that you are in your business. But I would say hiring good people is the number one job of an entrepreneur, head of operations etc. From my experience, during periods of high growth, it was up to 50% of my time was spent on recruiting but at all times it’s at least 25% of my week I spent thinking about how do I get the right people in the door at this company, how do I make sure the people that are here are having a good experience, how do we continue to build a team that’s going to be able to help us succeed in the next 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years and so, I think it’s a really important function.
