How should equity be split between founders?

Trying to figure out how to get founders is a really important question. I think that finding the right founders is just like finding the right marriage partner you want to live with. It’s really like a life decision, so divorce happens all the time with founders. I think it’s critical that as part of that you set up the equity structural really intelligently. So the simple idea would be to have 50-50 but you might want to have just barely more than 50, so somebody does have the deciding vote. It’s nice to have odd number founders, so three, so you can have people vote two versus one and in that situation to be smart to split the equity a ⅓⅓⅓. In the future, at some point, you’ll have an equity pool, so you have to factor that in.
